We just decided 2 weeks prior to this trip over a cup of coffee to have a birthday getaway for our dear friend, the Angelica Panganiban of IHG, Jacq Sevillena. We wanted to try "back to basics" and forgetting about the comfort of hotel staycation, which we can easily do, with the benefits we're getting as proud employees of an international hotel chain.

Trying to do some art photography

Our meeting place is at McDonald's Gil Puyat where we will ride the bus going to SM Lucena. The bus should have the name Lucena/Dalahican, otherwise, your end destination is only at the Grand Terminal and you have to ride another bus going to SM Lucena. First trip is at 2AM and we even bet to treat the others a Mcdo Sundae if any of us arrived after two. Sad to say, I arrived at 2:02 AM and had to treat the three of them. Thy enjoyed their Sundaes so much that the bus already left and we have no choice but to wait for the next bus at 4AM.

We met Jacq, the birthday celebrant at SM Lucena where we have to ride another jeepney going to Pagbilao, Quezon. Since we're 5 in the group, we agreed with the driver to take us directly to Pulo where the port going to Kwebang Lampas starts.

If you are a large group, ask the jeepney driver if they can take you there. Usually, jeepneys are only until Pagbilao Proper and you have to ride a tricyle going to Pulo. We paid the jeepney driver P100 instead from SM Luceno directly to Pulo. We have a lot of stuff to transfer from one transportation to another and tricycle may not be comfortable for a 20-30 minute.

You know you've reached your destination if you can see the power plants in the area. You have to pay for an entrance, either day tour or overnight stay. Another payment to pitch a tent and another for renting a cottage which is optional. You'll ride a boat to cross the lake (or I think it used to be a fish pond) for 5 minutes and trek for 15 minutes. If you're like us, lazy and want it comfy, rent a boat for P250 and it can already accommodate 10-12 persons for a 15-minute boat ride to Kwebang Lampas.

The water is crystal clear with different shades of blue.

Going there, you'll pass by a cave, thus, Kwebang Lampas, before you reach the destination.

It's similar to Anawangin and Nagsasa but the smaller version. It easily gets crowded especially on summer not discounting that we were there on a Sunday.

The sand is not as fine and white but it's still a beauty and not that bad to walk into it bare-footed. The boats though, if they could have parked somewhere to give more area for the people to swim.

Expenses:

Bus (P210/way) = P420
Jeepney ride form SM Lucena to Pulo = P100
Entrance Fee (overnight) = P185
Boat transfer 1 (balikan) = P20
Boat transfer 2 (if you avoid trekking) - (P250/5 pax) = P50
Cottage - (P700/5 pax) = P140
Fresh water for shower = P50
Tent Pitching (P200/5 pax) = P40
Boat transfer from campsite to boat transfer 1 (P250/5) = P50
Boat transfer 1 to jeepney terminal (P250/5) = P50
Tricycle going to jeepney terminal = P10
Jeepney to SM Lucena = P30

Total - P1,145 (Food and drinks not included)

But wait, there's more.... Kanino mo itataya ang huling piso mo??!!
