Sipalay has always been in my bucket list of beaches to visit in the Philippines. It's not as popular as Boracay or Palawan but I can say that you'll not regret ticking it from your 100 beaches to visit.
Sipalay can be reached either from Bacolod or Dumaguete as your entry point; roughly around 4-5 hours drive from Bacolod City. There are several resorts and beaches to go to from this city. Our first choice is to stay at Perth Paradise Resort because of it's infinity pool with picturesque background. Unfortunately, a friend who lives in a nearby city from Sipalay told us that it's no longer open to the public (we could have called the resort and confirm it for ourselves).
It was summer of 2015 when I attended the wedding of m college friends and I persuaded my college barkadas to join me in this trip. We only had a few sleep and almost missed the earliest bus to leave Bacolod because one of us didn't wake up on time. lol

You'll have an option to ride an air-conditioned or non-airconditioned bus going to Sipalay. Unfortunately, as we want to leave as early as possible, we have no choice but to enjoy the early morning breeze whipping our hair. It wasn't a comfortable ride but it was a good experience. You're transporting together with live animals (rooster) and sacks of vegetable crops which is the primary source of income of the people from the outskirts of the city.
We arrived around lunch time and we still need to look for an accommodation that would fit all of us six. Since it's only for an overnight stay, we also planned to do the island hopping right away. Most resorts were fully booked and we're lucky enough to get one from Artistic Diving Resort.
During the island hopping part, we're lucky to see a baby shark. The guide would point us that there's a sea turtle but we're not that fast to capture it with our camera or even seeing it with our naked eye.
Some areas are protected and fishing is not allowed. The thought of seeing a baby shark lingered in my mind and freaked me out to stay for long in the water. lol
The water is crystal clear and I can say that the corals are alive and healthy. We also get to enjoy the subdued sunlight and the calmness of the sea.
I seldom spend summer with my college classmates as I am located away from our province and I must say, this vacation is one for the books.
I enjoyed the time goofing around with them and we waited until sunset before heading back to our accommodation. I wish I could share how much I spent for this trip. One thing is for sure, it's affordable and it's within your budget.
With all of my travels, the feeling of joy and the euphoria of traveling with friends is something that makes me want to go back to my hometown. Only time can tell...maybe it will be sooner than I thought.
